Can I delete my account?
Account deletion is available on request. Contact our support team and we'll process the deletion within a few business days. Some records — completion certificates that have been reported to a state DMV, payment records required for tax compliance, and audit logs — are retained as long as state and federal law require, even after deletion. The personal-data portion of your account (name, contact info, login credentials) is fully removed. If you're considering deletion because of a problem, let us know what's wrong first — we can usually fix issues faster than starting over.
The retention-of-some-records-after-deletion is a state regulatory requirement rather than our preference. Approved providers must keep completion records for several years (the exact number varies by state) so that auditors can verify whether claimed completions actually happened. Payment records fall under federal tax-compliance retention rules. Audit logs are typically kept for security and dispute-resolution purposes. The portion under your control is everything that isn't legally required to retain — which covers the bulk of personally identifying information beyond the certificate itself.
Drivers who request deletion specifically because of unwanted email contact have a faster path: the email-preferences page in account settings turns off all marketing email immediately, without requiring full account deletion. The transactional emails (course progress, certificate, support replies) continue but the promotional traffic stops. Deletion is the right path for drivers who want to be off the platform entirely; preferences are the right path for drivers who want to stay on the platform but reduce inbox noise. Knowing the difference avoids the friction of deleting an account that might be useful again later.
