My name is misspelled on the certificate
My certificate from the Lewes course came back with my first name spelled wrong. Can it be corrected so the insurance company accepts it?
Hello Michelle, Of course — name corrections are simple as long as we receive a request before the certificate is submitted to any agency. To fix it: - Reply with your account email, your order number, and the correct spelling exactly as it appears on your driver's license - We will re-issue the corrected certificate within one business day - The old version is automatically voided on our side so there is no risk of duplication If the certificate has already been sent to your insurer, we will also notify them of the correction so the discount applies to the right person. How does the 10 percent Delaware insurance discount work?
I keep hearing that Delaware insurance companies have to give a 10 percent discount after this course. Is that really automatic?

C. §2733) requires auto insurers to provide a 10 percent discount on liability, personal injury protection, and collision premiums for three years after a driver successfully completes an approved defensive driving course. To activate the discount: - Email or upload your completion certificate to your insurer - Ask them to confirm the discount in writing and the effective date - Note the 3-year expiration date on your calendar so you can re-take the course to renew the discount The discount applies to the policyholder; if you share a policy with a spouse, both of you may want to take the course separately.
