Two points per year max in New Mexico?

I took the Albuquerque course in February. I heard the New Mexico MVD only removes 2 points per year. Is that right?

Hello Luis, Yes — New Mexico MVD allows a maximum 2-point reduction per 12-month period, and up to 6 points reduced per 3-year period, after completion of an approved defensive driving course. Practically: - If you had 4 points before the course, only 2 come off this year - You can take a refresher course in 12 months to remove another 2 if eligible - Maximum benefit over any 3-year window is 6 points total We report your completion electronically to MVD, usually within 24 hours, and the adjustment posts within 7-14 business days.
