I just finished the Seattle defensive driving course. Will my Washington insurance company give me a discount?

Hello Spencer, Washington does not mandate a statewide discount, but most major Washington carriers offer 5-10 percent voluntarily for 2-3 years after completion of an approved defensive driving course. To request: - Email or upload your certificate to your insurer's customer service - Ask whether they offer a defensive driving or safe driver discount - Confirm the effective date and expiration in writing If your current carrier does not, shopping a couple of others often finds a better rate.
