Do I need to do anything after I finish the course?

For ticket-related courses, we handle reporting directly with the issuing court or DMV through whatever channel that state requires (electronic, paper, or both). You don't need to mail anything, visit the courthouse, or fax a confirmation — the record updates on the state's normal schedule, and you keep the digital certificate as your personal proof. Some courts post the resolution to your case file within a day; others take a week. Either way, the action is on the state side once we've transmitted the record.

For insurance-discount courses, the workflow is different because your insurer isn't part of the state reporting system — you're the bridge. We email the certificate to you immediately on completion and explain exactly which department or address to send it to, including what file format and naming convention the insurer prefers. The insurer then validates the certificate and activates the discount on the next billing cycle, typically within one to two weeks. If you're enrolled for both purposes (a ticket and an insurance discount), the same completion can sometimes serve both — we walk through that combined flow at enrollment so the certificate is formatted correctly for both receiving parties.

A small set of post-completion housekeeping items applies to almost every driver. Save the certificate PDF in a stable location like cloud storage or a dedicated email folder, because you'll likely want it years later for insurance shopping or employer documentation. Update any internal calendar reminder if the course was an insurance discount completion — the three-year window benefits from a renewal-time reminder around month 30 to 32 so you can stack the next certificate before the discount drops off. Finally, if a teen completed drivers ed, schedule the DMV permit appointment within the window the certificate is valid for that step. The structural follow-ups take ten minutes and prevent friction later.
