I selected the wrong court when I signed up
I registered for the defensive driving course but accidentally selected a court in Atlanta instead of Savannah. Can it be changed?
Hello Angela, Yes — court selection can be updated as long as the certificate has not yet been transmitted. Here is the quickest path: - Reply with your account email, your order number, and the correct court name (e.g. Chatham County State Court) - We will update the court of record on our system immediately - If the wrong court has already received the certificate, we will void that record and resend to the correct court This does not affect your course progress in any way — your completion stays intact. I had 8 points on my record before taking the Atlanta defensive driving course. How many points will the state actually take off?

Georgia DDS allows up to 7 points to be removed from your record after completing an approved defensive driving course, and the program can be used once every five years. To finalize: - We report your completion electronically to Georgia DDS, usually within 24 hours - DDS adjusts the points on its side — there is no separate paperwork on your end - Allow 7-10 business days for DDS to post the change to your record After the update, request a copy of your driving record from DDS to confirm.
