I took the Charlotte defensive driving course. Will my North Carolina insurance company lower my rate?

Hello Trevor, North Carolina does not require a statewide discount, but many major NC carriers offer a voluntary discount of 5-10 percent for 2-3 years after defensive driving completion. To request it: - Email or upload your certificate to your insurer's customer service - Ask whether they offer a 'defensive driving' or 'safe driver' discount and the exact percentage - Get written confirmation of the start and end dates If your current insurer does not offer one, calling another NC carrier often finds a better rate.
