- Wait 10 days after your citation is issued. If you are eligible to take a defensive driving course, you need to make a request to the court on or before your scheduled court date. This request can be made in person, by mail or by phone.
- You will receive notification from the court outlining your requirements and deadlines in regards to your traffic school request.

How to Get a Learner License (Permit) in Texas
