Hello Cynthia, Yes! Under New Jersey law, completing an approved defensive driving course provides a mandatory 2-point reduction: - New Jersey MVC deducts 2 points from your driving record upon course completion (eligible once every 5 years) - You also qualify for a mandatory auto insurance discount (up to 5 percent) on liability and collision coverage for 3 years - We submit your completion record electronically to the NJ MVC and issue a certificate for your auto insurer.
