How many points will be removed in Georgia?
I had 8 points on my record before taking the Atlanta defensive driving course. How many points will the state actually take off?
Hello William, Thanks for asking. Georgia DDS allows up to 7 points to be removed from your record after completing an approved defensive driving course, and the program can be used once every five years. To finalize: - We report your completion electronically to Georgia DDS, usually within 24 hours - DDS adjusts the points on its side — there is no separate paperwork on your end - Allow 7-10 business days for DDS to post the change to your record After the update, request a copy of your driving record from DDS to confirm.
